Sofi Gallery is a contemporary art exhibition space in Bergamo, managed by RT Holding – Consulting Art SRL, a company with national and international experience in the art sector.
On September 13, 2025, the new 350-square-meter facility was inaugurated, designed to expand the cultural offerings through exhibitions, events, and gatherings dedicated to artistic research and experimentation.
The third edition of EYES WIDE SHOT is part of the contemporary photography open-call scene, with a stated goal of inclusivity: to offer a platform for both emerging and professional photographers. In an artistic context often dominated by elitist selections and rigidly codified curatorial languages, the exhibition instead chooses the path of total openness, eschewing an imposed theme and granting artists full creative freedom. This choice represents both the main strength and the risk of the entire project. The absence of a thematic constraint allows us to observe contemporary photography in all its diversity: different aesthetics, documentary approaches, conceptual experiments, and intimate narratives can coexist within the same exhibition space. This freedom highlights the artists’ individual identities and encourages authentic participation, unencumbered by the constraints of a predefined theme.
Another interesting aspect is the participatory nature of the opening event: the presence of photographer Enzo Crispino, who is tasked with guiding the audience through a critical analysis of the works, introduces a moment of reflection that goes beyond the simple display of images. In an era when photography is often consumed quickly through digital platforms, the decision to devote space to critical analysis restores value to the time spent observing and to the construction of a discourse on the image.
EYES WIDE SHOT reflects an increasingly widespread trend in the Italian independent film scene: creating accessible spaces for artistic dialogue that bring audiences, filmmakers, and critics together.
The challenge of the exhibition will be to transform the diversity of voices represented into a coherent and meaningful experience, ensuring that the open call does not become merely a collection of images.
We hope that this third edition will serve as an interesting snapshot of photography as it stands today within the field of contemporary visual art.
