The non-competitive cycling event “Gravel sul Serio” offers two routes designed for gravel and MTB enthusiasts. The routes, which feature both dirt and paved sections, cover distances of 70 km and 115 km with a moderate elevation gain.
Description of the Routes
The departure is scheduled from Romano di Lombardia, in Piazza Don Sandro Manzoni. The route explores the banks of the Serio River, following secondary roads, bike paths, and trails surrounded by nature in the lowlands of the Bergamo and Crema areas. The route passes through the springs of the plain and the Crema bike-pedestrian bridge, then follows the river upstream. In the Bariano area, the two routes diverge: the longer route continues toward the Seriate Green Oasis, passing by the castles of Cavernago and Malpaga. Both routes rejoin in the Romano countryside, passing by the Botanical Garden before the finish.
There will be mandatory checkpoints and a refreshment station along the routes. Participants will be provided with a GPX track so they can ride at their desired pace.
