In addition to housing the Foundation’s institutional and operational premises and various spaces for organizing temporary exhibitions and events, the Palace is also home to the House Museum.
It houses a valuable private collection donated by the Founders themselves with works from 1300 to 1800 and several 16th-century wooden sculptures.

The front is four stories above ground; on the ground is a fountain under a large stone archivolt, which is matched, toward the left, by the entrance hall. From this one passes to the courtyard, hanging (at least, with respect to the street), by means of an unusual Z-shaped staircase; it is worth noting that such a conquest of the courtyard space, coming from below, is stimulating in itself. but (once one reaches the elevation of this one) one does not find it difficult to recognize it as one among the best of the large series of Renaissance courtyards that the city possesses.

In the year 2009, Mrs. Anna Maria Stoppani concurrently with the establishment of the Foundation stipulated that upon her passing the building would be used as the Foundation’s headquarters.
In the year 2016, the Foundation arranged for the start of work on the restoration of the building, entrusting it to Carlo Teruzzi, a member of ICOM (International Council of Museums). Recovery that took more than a year and a half to restore the structure to the condition to be able to fulfill the Foundation’s purposes.

The restoration began by researching the history of the palace through an iconographic survey at the Land Registry, Municipal Technical Offices and Bibliography. The Foundation then decided that the restoration should preserve the conditions of use of the spaces in the utmost respect of those originally decided by the Founders, for the realization of which the collaboration of their grandson Francesco Gavazzeni, who lived with them, proved invaluable.
