The Restaurant
Polisena “L’altro Agriturismo” is the natural evolution of the adventure that began in 2000 with Azienda Agricola Tosca. For almost twenty years, with passion, dedication, love, and respect for nature and the territory, we have restored the ancient splendor of the vineyards in this extreme part of the Valcalepio area, in the province of Bergamo, to then vinify the fruit according to the principles of organic viticulture.
Today, through the restoration of the ancient monastic property surrounded by woods and vineyards, the Cascina Polisena is reborn, a place at the top of Pontida, a crossroads of trails leading to Palazzago, Celana, and Valcava.
Two spaces are available to guests: the main restaurant and a more informal area, the Vineria, housed in a room with 18th-century vaulted ceilings, where guests can taste the organic wines produced on-site, accompanied by tastings of Bergamasque cured meats, Orobie cheeses, and a small selection of daily hot dishes.
The Chef
Francesco Locatelli
Francesco Locatelli was born in 1991 in Bergamo, the “City of the Thousand.”
He attended culinary school in Val Seriana and, from a young age, gained experience in prestigious and Michelin-starred restaurants in the Lombardy provinces.
A professional sommelier since 2010.
In 2011, he opened the family’s eco-sustainable and organic agriturismo, where he served as head chef.

His cuisine follows two fundamental guidelines: taste and well-being.
In 2021, he returned to the family business, Polisena l’Altro Agriturismo, the ideal place to express his vision in perfect harmony with nature.
