The event takes the form of a walk to the Torre Pallavicina educational forest, structured to explore the theme of silence and the relationship with the natural environment. During the experience, participants will be able to reflect on stimuli drawn from the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke and the reflections of St. Augustine.
The philosophical walk with Nicoletta Polla-Mattiot, “Listening to Silence,” will take place on Saturday, July 11, at 10:00 a.m. The walk, which will take place within Oglio Park, will depart at 10:00 a.m. from Via Madonna di Loreto 17, Torre Pallavicina (BG), and is scheduled to arrive at 12:00 p.m. at the Torre Pallavicina Forest (educational forest). During the walk, participants will explore the meaning of silence as an inner experience and a connection with nature, honing their ability to listen to the subtlest sounds and translating the emotions evoked into reflective writing.
The philosophical walks are organized with the support of the Brescia Community Foundation, which offers a slow, meditative journey capable of sparking a maieutic exploration of things: as if the landscape itself, with its sounds and silences, were opening up a space for deep listening. The walks, set amidst the natural surroundings along the Oglio River, will be enriched by dialogue with local experts, philosophers, poets, and neuroscientists—a weaving together of knowledge aimed at restoring thought to its most inner dimension, and in some ways, its contemplative and spiritual dimension.
