The initiative, organized by Hakuna Matata Lake Iseo, offers a scientific and naturalistic exploration within the Sovere Fossil Lakes Park. Located in the Sellere-Pianico area of Val Borlezza, the site allows researchers to reconstruct the history of vegetation and climate during an Alpine interglacial period by analyzing leaves, fossil pollen, and sediments. The park serves as a 45,000-year-old geological archive documenting the presence of plants and animals in the Alps, the activity of the Oglio Glacier, and global climate changes. The event is sponsored by Hakuna Matata Lake Iseo with the support of the Municipality of SOVERRE, the SOVERRE Library, PAD – Percorsi Archeologici Diffusi Sebino, Val Cavallina, and Val Seriana, and the “Alessio Amighetti” Civic Museum of Natural Sciences in Lovere.
