Few can boast a long history in the production of Moscato di Scanzo and in the cultivation of this native grape variety that, for four generations now, has been the soul of the De Toma house.
A custom-made viticulture, to produce the precious passito wine. An ancient tradition, also linked to the great Bergamo architect Giacomo Quarenghi, says he took it to the court of the Tsar of All Russia. According to legend it was the year 1850 when this wine obtained its first listing on the London market: the only Italian wine, Moscato di Scanzo, to be listed on that marketplace.
From the same viticulture, the so intensely perfumed pomace of this prestigious wine is distilled in small dedicated stills and thus grappa is born, also characterized by the typical aromaticity of the grape variety.
The other iconic product of their production is Franciacorta DOCG Extra Brut wine, produced in the land of the same name, bordering Lake Sebino.
The De Toma family has been producing authentic Moscato di Scanzo DOGC since 1894, contributing to the preservation of this native grape variety.
