The Castello degli Angeli winemaking project was a forerunner of the biodynamic philosophy based on respect for man, time and land, still the founding principles of production today. Studies, ambitions and desires led patron Dr. Taiariol and visionary winemaker Prof. Zierock in 1996 to experiment with the cultivation of unprecedented grape varieties for the Bergamo area, inspired by the great French wines. Thus was created one of the most extreme vineyards in Lombardy: 1.8 hectares of vineyards with slopes up to 45 percent, dry stone walls and a density of about 11,000 vines per hectare. The production chain is totally artisanal, from field processing to harvesting, from pressing to long aging in barriques to bottling. Production of about 6,000 bottles per year.
