The event, organized by Hakuna Matata Lake Iseo, offers a two-hour tour through the Sovere Fossil Lakes Park.
The site, located in the Sellere-Pianico area of Val Borlezza, allows researchers to reconstruct the history of vegetation and climate during an Alpine interglacial period by analyzing leaves, fossil pollen, and sediments. The park serves as a 45,000-year-old stratigraphic archive documenting the flora and fauna of the Alps, the Oglio Glacier, and global climate changes. The event is sponsored by Hakuna Matata Lake Iseo with the support of the Municipality of SOVERRE, the SOVERRE Library, PAD – Percorsi Archeologici Diffusi Sebino, Val Cavallina, and Val Seriana, and the “Alessio Amighetti” Civic Museum of Natural Sciences in Lovere.
