Classical, opera, symphonic, chamber, ancient, crossover music: 55 appointments the municipalities of Lake Iseo. The “Onde Musicali sul Lago d’Iseo” festival reaches its ninth edition with rich program schedule that will be developed over four months.
Everything is ready for the ninth edition of “Musical Waves on Lake Iseo,” the festival organized by Lovere’s Luigi Tadini Association in collaboration with Visit Lake Iseo, the Lake Iseo tourism promotion agency, which since 2017 has been enlivening in the summer months (but not only) the most picturesque places on the two shores of Sebino and some neighboring localities with the involvement of some 20 municipalities in the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia. This year’s program is rich again: more than 200 artists will perform in 55 events scheduled from May 29 to September 5. Opera, chamber music, sacred, ancient, jazz, tango and crossover concerts are scheduled, as well as performances and music competitions, featuring established artists, winners of international competitions and young talents from Italian conservatories and foreign academies.
Not only that, May marks an important birthday, the centenary of the Motonave Capitanio 1926, the oldest boat on Lake Iseo, a heritage and historical memory of lake navigation. The anniversary will be celebrated with seven concerts – from June 4 to September 5 between Lovere, Marone, Iseo, Predore, Paratico, Pisogne and Castro – hosted on board the splendid and historic vessel.
“Musical Waves on Lake Iseo” is made possible thanks to the contribution of Regione Lombardia and the support of sponsors (Fondazione della Comunità Bergamasca, Navigazione Lago d’Iseo, Rotary Club Lovere-Iseo-Breno, Comisa, Bertoni antinfortunistica industriale, Gfelti, Antica Fratta Franciacorta and Lions Club Lovere). As always, all festival events are free admission, with the exception of three special concerts (cost: 80 euros, including parking, transportation to the island by private boat and a toast): the first is scheduled for June 27 at Rocca Martinengo in Monte Isola, the other two on September 5 on Loreto Island, closing the festival. Many of the events will be held in splendid art venues and evocative natural settings, offering an unmissable opportunity to (re)discover the charm and beauty of this corner of Lombardy.
