At Foppenico<\/strong> di Calolziocorte, on the edge of the ancient San Martino Valley, stands the sanctuary of Lavello. In 1480, when the church was being enlarged, a hermit discovered a sarcophagus and a spring<\/strong> that turned out to be miraculous. For six hundred years its spring has been said to be miraculous.
\nThe origins of the church go back a long way.
\nIt is said that a small church dedicated to the Virgin<\/strong> existed next to a stately castle in 1014. <\/p>\n
