A complex of mines, consisting of 60 kilometers of tunnels, creeps into the mountains that protect the Scalve Valley.
\nAs many as 4 of these can be visited, and you can explore them partly on foot and for a few stretches aboard one of the original railroad cars! <\/p>\n
The rail system is still in operation and will give you an authentic experience, taking you back in time to the years when miners in these lands risked their lives right here.<\/p>\n
To access the tunnels you will be provided with a protective helmet and a waterproof cape, and you will be ready for adventure!
\nThrough documentation, period photographs, authentic objects and tools used in the mines, former miners and some young guides will introduce you to the history and mining culture of Schilpario.
